Approach
Picture
Therapy is an individual process, and it takes courage and vulnerability to begin. I strive to create a safe and reflective space for you to process and witness your experiences, and to help you feel seen. My approach to therapy is creative and collaborative. I attend to your unique strengths and experiences while paying close attention to how our early relationships shape us and how the systems we live in impact our ability to heal.

I am a trauma focused, body-centered therapist, and I also use a relational, psychodynamic approach. Trauma lives in our bodies, and because of it, we may be unable to get in touch with important parts of ourselves, we may not be able to stop a flood of unwanted experiences, or we may be struggling with accessing positive emotions and connecting with others. My goal is for you to develop a more compassionate and embodied relationship with yourself.

I utilize Somatic Experiencing and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in addition to other approaches. Accessing the body’s innate wisdom to heal trauma can help facilitate safety, trust, and connection.

Areas of emphasis include:
  • Gender Affirming Care
  • Sexuality
  • Fertility, Pregnancy, and Parenting Support
  • Trauma, Intergenerational Trauma, and PTSD
  • Immigration and Acculturation
  • Healing from or reconnecting with family of origin
  • Body Image (I am Health at Every Size affirming and weight neutral)
  • Relationships
  • Depression and Anxiety

Rates

My current rate for California clients is $210. My rate for Washington clients is $185. I do have some sliding scale spots available, so please ask! I am in network with Alameda Alliance Medi-Cal only. I do not take private insurance, but many people opt to pay out of network and have their insurance companies reimburse them. Please contact me using the form below for more information.

About Me

Picture
I am a Clinical Social Worker located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am licensed in California (LCSW70723) and in Washington State (LW60550038) and have more than ten years of experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and immigrant/refugee communities. I have worked with people all across the life course, from birth to older adulthood in a variety of settings. I am bilingual in Spanish and can provide all services in English and Spanish.

I am queer, transmasculine, and nonbinary (they/them pronouns). I am also white, Jewish of Ashkenazi descent, and identify strongly as an anti-Zionist.
My history and lived experience helps me to understand the complexity of the concerns that my clients bring to therapy and to tend to the intersections of identity. As a politicized healer, I pay special attention to the impact of living under oppressive systems like racism, transphobia, classism, sexism, and ableism.

When I am not doing healing work, I love riding my bike, making pottery, and reading fiction.
